Almost 2 months after Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise, the Centre informed the Supreme Court that it has accepted the Bihar government's recommendation for a CBI probe into death case of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput.This announcement came in on the very day that the apex court was hearing Rhea’s plea to transfer the FIR filed against her in Patna to Mumbai.

Nonetheless, the decision was welcomed by the actor’s family and even former girlfriend Ankita Lokhande. While SSR’s sister tweeted, “CBI it is!!!” Ankita shared a post on Instagram that read, “The moment we’ve waited for has arrived.”
Meanwhile, Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer says they are "satisfied" with the outcome of the hearing at the Supreme Court. In a statement, he said, “We are satisfied with the outcome of the hearing. In view of the pendency of the proceedings in SC Rhea or anyone on her behalf refrain from making any comments in the case."
While Rhea may not be giving her statements to the press, the Supreme Court has denied her interim protection from questioning by the Bihar Police. Rhea's lawyer had reportedly requested for the protective order, which was refused.
