After Aftab Shivdasani, Emraan Hashmi and Kunal Khemu, Tushar Jalota is Mahesh Bhatt's latest blue-eyed boy.
The 23-year-old commerce graduate from NYK College, Mumbai, who has worked as assistant director in some of Mahesh Bhatt's films, will soon be seen in the lead role in Bhatt's latest venture Showbiz.
1x1 polls

Mrinalini Sharma on the other hand started off as an item girl in Prakash Jha's Apaharan but now she will be making her presence felt as the lead actress opposite Tushar in Bhatt's latest flick. NT gets up close and personal with this fresh, new screen pair.
The first leap
Tushar says that acting happened quite by chance as he had never thought of dabbling in Bollywood. So how did it all happen?
"After my HSC, I wanted to make the most of my vacations and make a fast buck. Mukesh Bhatt's son Vishesh, who is one of my best buddies, suggested that I should assist Mahesh Bhatt. It was during the sets of Kalyug that Maheshji noticed me and decided to launch me in his next venture. I even joined Anupam Kher's acting school to do a three-month course," says Tushar. Mrinali chips in: "I started off as a model and films were the logical conclusion. Maheshji signed me for this film way back, but the venture was delayed. Meanwhile I did his film Awarapan."

Not a cakewalk!
The young actor who has worked for a few years behind the camera says that facing the camera has been a different experience altogether.
"Acting has given me a massive high. But becoming an actor is tough. With every shot, one grows as an actor. Since I have been involved in scripting and casting of movies, I understand the technicalities of film making and my stint as an assistant director has helped me in getting my technical facts right," quips Tushar. But Mrinalini had a different experience. "On the first day of the shoot, I was so intimidated by the entire ambience that I felt as if I had come to a wrong profession. But now I have learnt to handle the pressure," says she.
Nagpur calling
This screen pair is likely to visit Nagpur next week. This will be their maiden visit. With anticipation writ large in her voice, Mrinalini says, "I have no idea what Nagpur looks like, but yes, I have heard a lot about the Nagpur Oranges." Tushar adds, "I hope to taste some of these famous fruits when I come over there."
Rumours flying thick and fast
What do these youngsters have to say about an alleged romance brewing between them? Tushar is tightlipped and refuses to comment but Mrinalini adds, "Nothing is happening right now. I would rather concentrate on my work. Everything else can wait for now."
Of sexy co-stars
Tushar's list of Bollywood hotties starts and ends with Bipasha. "Bipasha is the sexiest woman out there and I would love to do a film with her," says he. Mrinalini prefers to play it safe and adds, "I think everyone is quite good and talented too!"
