Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap director Puri Jagannadh has good news for Big B fans. After the film’s release, he will release an audio CD of Amitabh Bachchan’s dialogues from the film.BHTB sees the return of Bachchan Sr as the legendary angry man. Says Puri, “I have been a huge fan of Amitabh Bachchan since I saw Zanjeer. The angry young man made such an impact on me that I watched all his films after that.
I stopped seeing his films after Mard because he started doing character roles, which I couldn’t bear to see. Then after 24 years, I watched Sarkar and thought why can’t we see Amitji in an angry, heroic role again? I only wanted to see him in the angry young man roles, so I wrote a script for him.”
When the director went to narrate the script to the actor, all he told him was one dialogue from the film: “Agar mein maroonga toh goli se maroonga, blood pressure ya sugar se nahi!” and he agreed to do it.
Puri, who had a picture of the Big B on the wall of his house while growing up, adds, “There’s a lot of fire in Amitji and he’s very fit for his age. I have presented him in the movie as an angry man bashing up goons, shooting guns and delivering solid dialogues. In BHTB, the audience will get to see him doing stunts and comedy — all the elements his fans love about him. He plays an old gangster settled in Paris who returns to Mumbai after 20 years on a mission. He has a rough attitude and wears colourful outfits. We even see Amitjidriving a car at 150 km per hour! You will enjoy his derring-do after Deewar and Zanjeer. People still mouth Amitji’s dialogues from his old films. I plan to release an audio CD of his dialogues after the film’s release.”
Produced by Viacom 18 and AB Corp, Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap releases on July 1.
