He's a versatile actor alright and can play his roles convincingly well! From the sharp character in 'Chandni Bar' (1999) to the shrewd gangster in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Raees' (2017),
Atul Kulkarni has given different takes to his roles. In his next, 'Black Bud', Atul gets into another unconventional film, in which he plays a sexually-liberated painter Mehmood Khan and is seen having a threesome with a pair of sisters — played by Kiran Thapar and Saba Saudagar — he is married to.
Talking about the theme of this Amol Kale-directed film, Atul says he did not think twice to take up the challenge of playing a bold character. He said that he never had any apprehension in performing the scenes and that as an actor, nothing could be taboo for him. He says that
sex is just another element that is associated with human beings like anger or laughter.
He added that the project revolves around three aspects — emotions, finance, and sex and that he liked the idea of exploring these facets by converting them into characters.
Buzz is the film may get into a controversy owing to its controversial subject, but that does not faze Atul. He says he doesn’t know how the Censor Board would react to it, but he says he is ready to deal with the outcome when needed.
