As the nation mourns the loss of legendary singer Asha Bhosle, heartfelt tributes continue to pour in from across the country. Joining the many voices remembering her were star couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, who took to social media to express their condolences.

“Rest in peace, Asha Bhosle ji. Your voice touched millions and will live on forever in our hearts. Om Shanti,” Virat posted.

Anushka, too, honoured the late singer’s legacy, writing, “A voice that defined generations, Asha ji's legacy will always stay with us. Om Shanti.”

Asha Bhosle passes away at 92

In a heartbreaking loss for Indian music, legendary singer Asha Bhosle passed away on Sunday at the age of 92. With a career spanning over eight decades, she leaves behind an unparalleled legacy that shaped the soundscape of Hindi cinema and beyond.

Confirming the news, Dr Pratit Samdani from Breach Candy Hospital said, “Asha Bhosale breathed her last today in Breach Candy Hospital. She passed away due to multi-organ failure.” The singer had reportedly been admitted on Saturday evening following extreme exhaustion and a chest infection.

A career marked by unparalleled achievements

Born in 1933, Asha Bhosle began her musical journey at a young age and rose to prominence in the 1950s. Over a career spanning decades, she recorded thousands of songs across multiple Indian languages, effortlessly moving between classical, ghazals, cabaret, pop and folk.

Her collaborations with some of the biggest composers and filmmakers made her one of the most influential and versatile voices in Indian cinema.



Asha Bhosle was honoured with several prestigious accolades, including the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the Padma Vibhushan. In 2011, she was recognised by the Guinness World Records as the most-recorded artist in music history.

She breathed her last on Sunday at the age of 92. Dr Prateet Samdani from Breach Candy Hospital confirmed that the veteran singer had been dealing with multiple health issues and passed away due to organ failure.
