Debutante Director Aarohi's period drama 'Neel Ghurni' ('The Indigo Whirlwind'), adapted from the eponymous Bengali novel, is based on India's freedom struggle. The film boasts of an ensemble cast, comprising actors from Bollywood, Bengal and the UK.
Parambrata Chatterjee (of 'Kahaani' fame), Jisshu Sengupta and veteran actor Om Puri will play pivotal roles in the film, which is being produced by Poets Lovers & Lunatics Cinema House in association with Devka Entertainment.

Post House, a leading Post Production Studio of Mumbai, will handle the technical & VFX requirements.
Set in the backdrop of the Indigo Revolution in the mid-19th century, the film is a saga of love, war and the quest for freedom and salvation. Aarohi says, 'I find the courage of the people involved in the freedom struggle very inspiring. I've worked on the script for the last three years to get the nuances of that period right. 'Neel Ghurni' will be a colourful work of fiction based on strong research.' The film is slated to go on floors in January next year.
