Ameesha Patel gets ready for maiden venture

Ameesha Patel has begun preparing for her maiden production venture, Desi Magic. She has roped in designer Manish Malhotra to work on the costumes.
The actress essays a double role — that of a sweet Punjabi girl and a spoilt rich brat from Budapest. These days, both Ameesha and Manish are busy brainstorming over her characters’ look.
Says Ameesha, “Post Cannes, Manish and I are taking a step forward.I feel he can do justice to both my characters. When I offered him the opportunity, he felt that it would be challenging to design two contrasting looks. We are going to finalise the costumes soon, as our schedule is expected to start in a few weeks.”
Says producer Kunal Goomer, “Who better than Manish to design for a film like Desi Magic, where there is glamour and family values?”
