Alia Bhatt recently opened up about her ongoing journey with anxiety, revealing that she attends therapy sessions weekly to manage her mental health.
Speaking during an intimate pre-birthday celebration with the media, where she was joined by her husband
Ranbir Kapoor, Alia admitted that handling emotions is "a daily work in progress."
The actor, who previously discussed her struggles with anxiety and ADHD on
Jay Shetty’s podcast, emphasized the importance of self-awareness.
She said she finds herself in various moments where her emotions are getting the better of her and despite not being deeply into meditation, Alia explained that simply recognizing her emotional patterns helps her navigate difficult situations.
Alia also revealed that reading to her daughter, Raha, offers unexpected comfort. She mentioned a children's book titled The Book of Emotions, which she often reads to her. "When I read that book to her, it is actually like I am reading to myself," Alia said, highlighting how the simple lessons about feelings serve as reminders for her as well.
The actor believes that acknowledging emotions, combined with regular therapy and open conversations, plays a crucial role in maintaining mental well-being. "Support definitely helps, and talking it out helps," she added.
On the work front, Alia Bhatt will next be seen in 'Love and War,' directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, where she stars alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. Her previous outing 'Jigra' failed to impress the audiences and turned out to be an average hit at the box office.
