'Simmba' box office collection update: The Ranveer Singh starrer action flick collects Rs 240 crore in eight weeks

Director Rohit Shetty helmed action-flick 'Simmba' starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan in the lead roles is still running into the eighth week though with minimal collections. The film ended the year 2018 with a bang and is a blockbuster as well as the third highest worldwide grosser of the year. '

According to the latest report by BoxofficeIndia.com, the Rohit Shetty film has collected a total of Rs 240.10 crore at the box office in eight weeks. The film is the tenth highest-grossing film though Vicky Kaushal starrer 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' looks sure to cross it very soon.

The plot of the film revolves around the title character 'Simmba' who is a corrupt cop and lives an unethical way of life. Soon an incident happens in his life which transforms him and makes him choose the righteous path.

Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film also stars Sonu Sood, Siddharth Jadhav and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles. The film also sees cameo appearances from Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, and the Golmaal team. 'Simmba' is the Hindi remake of Telugu language film 'Temper'.
