‘Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana’ box-office Day 1: The Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda film opens on a low note

Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda’s love story-cum-revenge drama ‘Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana’ got mixed reviews from the critics but registered a dull opening at the box-office. The film opened at just around Rs. 60-65 lakh on the day of its release, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com.The small-town romance which turns into a revenge story looked promising with interesting trailer and melodious songs. Rajkummar Rao plays Satyendra aka Sattu whose match is fixed with Kriti Kharbanda aka Aarti Shukla who has her career dreams but is pressurized by her family for marriage. How the two fall in love but what gets wrong on the wedding day that leads to an ugly turn of events and eventually a hate story remains is to be unraveled in the movie theatres.South star Kriti Kharbanda who was also seen in ‘Raaz Reboot’ is being highly appreciated for her role in the film. The actress, who has given several Telugu hit flicks, had even stated that she had loved the script of the film so much that she didn’t discuss remuneration. As per the reports, she took away comparatively lesser than her usual fee.Rajkummar Rao has been at the centre of the spotlight with his back to back notable performances in films like ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ and then ‘Newton’. The actor finally gets to play the romantic hero in this one but will he get the girl this time?Rajkummar has also shown his dancing skills by grooving alongside Kriti Kharbanda in the dance number ‘Pallo latke’ which has been loved by the music lovers. The film also has a few lovely and soothing romantic numbers like ‘Main hoon saath tere’, ‘Jogi’ and ‘Tu banja gali Benaras ki’. The revenge song ‘Mera Intkam Dekhegi’ is one its kind and is definitely intriguing owing to its high pitch and rage.
