Multiple releases 'ready' for mass-suicide

None from the half dozen releases could compete with each other, forget competing with Salman's 'Ready'. 'Double Dhamaal's solo release should ensure big opening.

The Friday gone by saw multiple films clashing at the box-office and almost committing mass-suicide. But business was not merely bad because films ate into each other's collection but also for the fact that the films that released were poor on content.
Always Kabhi Kabhi got the weakest opening amongst all the releases despite coming from Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies banner.
1x1 polls
The campus caper was outright rejected for its juvenile approach.
Comparing with the unprecedented success of the first part, Bheja Fry 2 had a very dull opening and occupancy didn't go beyond 15-20%. While the prequel established independent cinema some years back and gave a boost to small-budget entertainers, the sequel, in comparison, was disappointment both in terms of its humour quotient and business prospects.
Bin Bulaaye Baraati coming from the old school of comedy catered to the single screens and other than the north zone, business was predictably poor. Bhindi Baazaar Inc had limited appeal and prospects. Subhash Ghai produced Cycle Kick went as unnoticed as the preceding week's Love Express.
Amidst as good as zero competition, Salman Khan's Ready continued to rule the box-office. The numbers even in its third week are mind-blowing with the film collecting around Rs 8 crores ' a figure that most films can't manage even in its first week. Business of
Shaitan went down in its second week though it manages to be on the Top 5 list.
All films steer clear the coming Friday making way for Double Dhamaal. Retaining its entire original star-cast (Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh, Ashish Chaudhary, Javed Jaffrey) and going by the success of the first part, expectations are rife from the sequel. Its solo release status should add to its business prospects considerably.
