Mohit Suri, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s ‘Saiyaara’ mints Rs 70 lakh in 7th week; total collection reaches Rs 329.40 Crore

Mohit Suri’s romantic drama Saiyaara, starring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Anneet Padda is all set to enter its eight week. After an impressive run which will go down in history the film is finally shows signs of exhaustion as the film has managed to earn just Rs 70 lakh in the seventh week. It is a significant fall compared to the Rs 2.89 crore it had collected in the sixth week.The day-wise breakdown for the seventh week stood at Rs 8 lakh on Friday to Rs 17 lakh on Saturday to Rs 20 lakh on Sunday. On Monday and Tuesday the film collected Rs 5 lakh respectively and on Wednesday it saw a small spike to collect Rs 7 lakh and on Thursday it again spiked to Rs 8 lakh, thus taking the overall week & collection to Rs 70 lakh. Despite the drops, the film’s overall total has now reached a staggering Rs 329.40 crore at the domestic box office.The film had a fabulous run in the first two weeks where it collected more than Rs 100 crore every week, as the film hit the third week the collections began to drop in a major way. But the film survived at the box office till the 7th week and faced off with many big titles like Mahavatar Narimsha, Coolie and War 2. Many things worked for the film starting from chartbusting music to the chemistry between Ahaan and Aneet to Mohit Suri’s command over emotions. But the film now clearly seems out of steam and has very limited showcasing. And it seems the film will finally fold up with the total life collection of Rs 330 crore. While Aneet has a web show coming up with Fatima Sana Sheikh and has also signed her next film with director Maneesh Sharma, but there is still suspense over Ahaan’s next move.
