Despite opening to the biggest first-day collection of the year, Abhishek Varman directorial period drama 'Kalank' has fallen sharply after the first day and the collection will further reduce after the Hollywood release 'Avengers: Endgame' hits the screens this Friday. The film stars an ensemble star cast of Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Madhuri Dixit, and Sanjay Dutt and has been touted as producer Karan Johar's most ambitious project till now.

According to the latest report on the Boxofficeindia.com, on Tuesday, the film has managed to rake in Rs 3.20 crore on its seventh day at the box office. The collection on Tuesday is 10% lower than that of the previous day. The film has managed to collect a total of Rs 69.25 crore at the box office in seven days.

The collection of 'Kalank' came down real fast after the first day, despite the film capitalizing on an extended weekend of five days.
Set in the 1940s, in the pre-independence era, the film is a period drama which tells the tale of six characters mired with each other in the threads of love and revenge. The film boasts of enormous larger than life sets, grand music, and dance performances, and stupendous acting from a popular star cast.

Directed by Abhishek Varman, 'Kalank' also stars Kunal Khemu, Kriti Sanon, Kiara Advani and Hiten Tejwani in pivotal roles. The film hit the screens on April 17.
