‘Julie 2’ box-office collection Day 2: The bold film fails to impress

The much-hyped bold film ‘Julie 2’ failed to pull the audience to the movie theatres. The film marks the Bollywood debut of popular south actress Raai Laxmi who has been raising the temperatures ever since the release of the film’s trailer.

According to the reports in Boxofficeindia.com, the film opened at around Rs 50 lakh and attained similar figures on its second day (Saturday) too.
Written, co-produced and directed by Deepak Shivdasani, ‘Julie 2’ is the sequel to the 2004 film ‘Julie’ which had Neha Dhupia in the title role.
Shot in the scenic locations of Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Dubai, ‘Julie 2’ revolves around an aspiring actress dealing with the casting couch phenomenon before it turns into a murder mystery. Although the first look of the film was released on Valentine’s Day this year, it released in November.
The film also stars Nishikant Kamat, Ravi Kishan, Aditya Srivastava, Pankaj Tripathy, Rati Agnihotri and Yuri Suri.
Recently, the film was embroiled in a controversy over its alleged similarity with the life of actress Nagma who on being enquired on the issue said that she can only comment on it after watching it.
