'Ikkis' box office collection Day 3: Agastya Nanda and Dharmendra starrer hits Rs 15 crore mark; sees limited growth amid 'Dhurandhar' wave
After a steady New Year opening, 'Ikkis' starring Agastya Nanda and Dharmendra in lead roles, has shown marginal growth at the box office, amid the dominance of the Ranveer Singh-starrer 'Dhurandhar'. Despite positive word of mouth for its emotional war narrative and great buzz, the Sriram Raghavan-directed war film has seen an average footfall.
Ikkis Movie Review
The war drama opened in cinemas on New Year’s Day with an impressive Rs 7 crore collection. However, collections dipped on Friday to approximately Rs 3.5 crore. With Saturday’s earnings added, the film’s total India net collection now stands at an estimated Rs 15.15 crore.
Bachchan, who attended the screening of the film in Mumbai, shared a note on his personal blog, lauding his grandson's maturity and unfiltered honesty in his performance.
"Tonight to see him in frame, unable to take my eyes off each time he fills the frames of the film .. his maturity, his unfiltered honesty in his performance, his presence justifying the character he portrays .. nothing frith or froth , just the Arun Khetarpal soldier , who fought in his bravery as the 21-year-old , defending the nation during the India -Pak war of 1971 .. nothing excessive , just the perfection in every shot," he wrote.
"When he is in the frame you only watch him .. and this is not a grandfather speaking, this is a hardened viewer of cinema .. And the film flawless in its presentation .. its writing .. its Direction .. And when it ends .. the eyes filled with tears of joy and pride .. unable to speak out," he added.
The film also features the late Dharmendra in a pivotal role, alongside Simar Bhatia, Vivan Shah, Sikandar Kher and Jaideep Ahlawat.

The makers of Ikkis have made a feeble attempt to cover up their gross distasteful false depiction of humanity by the Pakistan Army Officer. The little disclaimer now added to the start is NOTHING compared to the pathetic false portrayal of the Pakistan Army which is a symbol of merciless demons, & rogues who behave a hundred times worse than animals.Read allPost comment
