‘Drishyam 2’ box office collection first weekend: Ajay Devgn starrer scores a whopping Rs 62 crore nett

Ajay Devgn has set the cash registers ringing out loud at the box office. His latest offering, ‘Drishyam 2’, has managed to pull massive audiences to theatres.
The film recorded on opening of Rs 15 crore nett and went on to record huge growth over the weekend. ‘Drishyam 2’ raked in a total of Rs 62.75 crore nett at the end of three days, reports boxofficeindia.The film fetched decent numbers in single screens in UP and Maharashtra. Over the weekend, ‘Drishyam 2’ has recorded a better score than ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’. Apart from Ajay, ‘Drishyam 2’ also features Tabu, Shriya Saran and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles with Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Rajat Kapoor essaying pivotal parts.
Speaking about the film, Ajay Devgn shared, “Tabu and I are at loggerheads in the film because she’s a cop and I’m a suspect. However, she’s a mother first and is absolutely right in being concerned about her own family. Likewise, I’m a father. For me as well, family comes first. The interesting thing about Vijay Salgaonkar is that, for him, the actual truth is just one — he will protect his family at any cost. He is not thinking of himself as virtuous or as a hero. He is a father who has chosen to handle a sensitive situation in a way he deems correct. For him, his wife and two daughters come first. Drishyam 2 helps define Vijay Salgaonkar better.”
