'Aiyaary' box-office collection week 1: Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee's thriller earns Rs 16.25 crore

Neeraj Pandey's thriller 'Aiyaary', which stars Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Manoj Bajpayee in pivotal roles, has received a lukewarm response at the ticket window thus far. According to a recent report on BoxofficeIndia.com, the film has collected Rs 16.25 crore in its first week at the box-office.
The film which also stars Rakul Preet Singh, Pooja Chopra, Adil Hussain, Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles, revolves around an Indian Army officer who is compelled to chase down his protege when the latter turns rogue and threatens to disrupt the country’s government and army.
While the film showed an upward trend on its second day, its drop has been significant since then and trade experts are now looking to see if the film can reach the Rs 20 crore mark.
Hollywood superhero flick 'Black Panther' which released along with 'Aiyaary' has given this thriller a run for its money at the box-office.
