Jhinal Belani says, “I have a lot of cousin brothers. Every Rakshabandhan I go to my Mama's place and we celebrate it there. Mama's kids are very young. One is 15 and one is 9 years old. I truly enjoy it there. One fond memory is from last to last year, the younger cousin, Panth, gave me some money from his piggy bank as he wanted to give me something on his own. Also, I and my sister tie rakhi to each other every year.”
Bhakti Rathod says, “ I prayed for a younger brother ever since I was 4yrs old by god’s grace my mother was expecting when I was 9 years of age; I remember it was 5:30 am of 3rd August 1999 when my father called from the hospital and told me I had a baby sister. I cannot thank God enough for the lifelong gift he has given me in the form of another girl. Today I understand and cherish the beautiful concept of sisterhood as I found my soulmate in her. My Raksha Bandhan is not about my sibling promising me protection and me praying for his long life, but it is about both us sisters promising each other our life long commitment no matter where life takes us.”
Chaya Vora says, “For me, the Rakshabandhan festival was more than any other festival. My two younger brothers, Nilesh and Kshitij. Nilesh is no more with us, but he is always with me as my angel. Both of them are my most loved persons on earth. Love for Nilesh and Kshitij is not explainable. Love forever. Miss you Nilesh immensely. Love you Kshitij.”
