I was known for being the most paranoid on the sets: Niilam Paanchal

As the year slowly comes to an end, actress Niilam Paanchal talks about what it was to work during the pandemic. She shares, “My first shooting experience during the pandemic was was when I shot for the Gujarati film Ekvismu Tiffin, in September. I also shot for a Marathi daily amidst the pandemic. I was known for being the most paranoid on the sets while shooting.Everyone would tease me, saying things like, “sirf Niilam ko hi darr lagta hai!” I’m still just as scared, and I feel that if you are scared you stay careful and safe. Even now, my guard is always up and I’m always careful when I step out and shoot. Shooting during the pandemic has prepared me for a lot of challenges. I have now fully understood the meaning of the phrase, ‘the show must go on’. Although I am still scared of the pandemic, I am prepared to fight it and shoot in the middle of it. There were few projects of mine that got postponed, and although that upset me, I didn’t let it affect me. Instead, now I utilise the time I have to prepare for future projects and also to work on my fitness and health.”
