Taal se taal mila: Victorial Memorial resonates with Indian percussions
A classical music concert titled Naad Brahma was held at Victoria Memorial Hall on Friday, bringing together Indian classical, folk and indigenous drumming traditions. Conceived as an experimental project, the performance centred on rhythm, creating a Hindustani soundscape through unscripted improvisations. Featuring tabla, mridangam, pakhawaj, dhak, dhol and Manipuri pungcholam, the concert was a part of the second edition of the Victoria Memorial Hall Cultural Festival, Sanskriti Para. Bonnya Bose, who organised the show, said “The strong response, especially from young audiences, highlights the role of such initiatives in preserving India’s musical heritage.”
