SwaraMalhar- A musical prayer to the god of rain

Puneites soaked in a musical fiesta, SwaraMalhar, which saw legends from the field, including Anuradha Kuber, Ustad Shujaat Khan and Pt Atulkumar Upadhye, coming together to perform in the city.

The three-day event commenced with evening ragas performed by vocalists Saylee Talwalkar and Rahul Deshpande and Pt Vishwamohan Bhatt on the mohan veena.
The second day saw the audience enthralled by a kathak performance by Sheetal Kolwalkar to vocals by Anuradha Kuber and Kaushiki Chakraborty, while Ustad Shujaat Khan regaled those present with his violin recital.

The audience was in for a treat on the third day which saw a duet performance by Pt Ronu Majumdar on the flute and Pt Debojyoti Bose on sarod. To add to the high dose of music, the evening also witnessed performances from Pt Ajay Pohankar and Abhijit Pohankar. The festival ended on a high note as Ashwinin Bhide and Pt Atulkumar Upadhye mesmerised the audience with vocals and violin recitals respectively. The musical fiesta saw the who’s who of the city as well as art and culture enthusiasts in attendance.
