Pune witnesses music from around the World
The city witnessed no less than a World tour when The Women of the World (WOW) was in the city to take you to a musical journey. Performing for the first time in Pune after their shows in Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, and Mumbai, it was a treat for the music lovers of the city. WOW, the multi-racial vocal ensemble that performs in 32 languages and counting, showcased that how the world can come together through the medium of music. The ensemble featuring four Berklee College of Music (Boston) alumni — vocalists Annette Philip from India, Ayumi Ueda from Japan, Giorgia Renosto from Italy, Debo Ray from Haiti/USA, along with drummer/percussionist Patrick Simard from Canada set the stage ablaze with some of their songs. They presented songs on languages like Indian, Japanese, French, and Mandarin to name a few. Talking to the member of the band, Annette said, “Usually we bring India to the world, but with this tour, we are bringing the world to India with our music.”
