Poised for perfection, Kuchipudi takes the stage in Hyderabad

Kuchipudi lovers made way to Lamakaan this Saturday for a repertoire of classical dance recitals staged by Sasi Challa Tadepalli, Bijina, Saumya and Shivani of Abhinaya Vani Nrutya Niketan. The programme kicked off with the traditional Ganesh vandanam by Sasi and Bijina followed by a salutation to Lord Shiva and Parvati presented by Saumya and Shivani.When Sasi and Bijina went on stage to perform Muddugare Yashoda — a keerthana depicting Yashoda playing with baby Krishna, the audience could all but watch in rapture. Saumya and Shivani also did not let them shift their attention with their next act, Paluke Bangaramayena. The recital which was going smoothly up till then, hit a hurdle when Sasi Tadepalli had to skip her Thandavam performance due to technical difficulties. However, the final act, Dasavatharam made up for it with its complex yet flawless presentation.
