For the software designers gathered at the venue, the night was definitely an unusual one as they were away from the workstations, laptops and projects. The occasion was a get together of the city-based branch of a multi-national IT firm.
The techies displayed different shades at the party, as some were shaking their legs on a hit number, others were humming songs and the rest were enjoying every moment of the evening.
Giving his take on Nagpur, Peter Harrison, the CEO of the IT firm (who is on his fourth visit to Nagpur) says, “Nagpur can be best described as a blend of the serious, sober, happy and full of celebrations.” The evening started on a hilarious note with five skits based on Gandhian principles being enacted by the different departments of the firm. For a moment it seemed as if the programme development, dry run, testing, trouble shooting and marketing had taken a back seat. An interesting contest was also organised to ascertain, who is the 'highest spirited' amongst all those present on the occasion. The contest was a huge hit among the male fraternity and most of them came forward to assert supremacy. The mood was absolutely upbeat at the party as the music played and the evening warmed up to fun and laughter. Seen enjoying the evening were the Shashikant Chaudhary, Deepak Menaria and Poonam Menaria and a host of other IT professionals.
