“Journalism and peace are the most befitting and rampant topic of discussion, it is the need of the hour,” said Dr Lobang Sangay, Prime Minister of Tibet, while inaugurating the festival at Marwah Studios. “Mahatma Gandhi is still alive in our ideology,” added Dr Bhisham Narayan Singh, former Governor of Tamil Nadu.

“The festival has encouraged journalists from all over the world to redirect their attention on peace and harmony,” said Darja Bavdaz-Kuret, the ambassador of Slovenia, while launching the Sardar Patel Forum. The host of events included workshops, seminars, discussions, exhibitions, screening of documentaries by prominent journalists of India and other countries. “The festival has made both countries more responsible and it is time to find effective solutions to strengthen Indo-Pak ties and forge mutual development and unity,” said Abdul Basit, the high commissioner of Pakistan, on the valedictory day.
The festival took place under the presidentship of Sandeep Marwah, chairperson, International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry. Marwah said,” Our purpose of spreading love, peace and unity through art and culture is rightly initiated.”
