A tribute concert commemorating the 102nd birth anniversary of playback singer Mukesh is scheduled to take place in Delhi this weekend. The concert will feature Nitin Mukesh, son of Mukesh, who will perform a selection of songs from his father’s repertoire. The show is expected to include orchestral renditions of tracks such as “Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Mein”, “Kahin Door Jab Din Dhal Jaye”, and “Jeena Yahan Marna Yahan.” Mukesh, born in 1923 in Delhi, was active as a playback singer in Hindi cinema from the 1940s to the 1970s. He recorded numerous songs over his career and worked with several noted composers and filmmakers of the period. Nitin Mukesh has also worked as a playback and devotional singer since the 1970s, with a number of recorded tracks and concert performances to his name. His son, Neil Nitin Mukesh, later entered the film industry as an actor. The concert is scheduled for the evening of August 2.
