Spirit, speed and smiles define the Mumbai Marathon
The Mumbai Marathon 2026 turned the city into a moving carnival. With over 69,100 participants registered, like every year, Mumbaikars across age groups took to the streets on Sunday morning. Among the people running the Dream Run (6 km), was Aamir Khan, who made his debut at the marathon. He was present here with ex-wife Kiran Rao, son Azad, daughter Ira and son-in-law Nupur Shikhare.
The Dream Run, as always, became a place where people got creative to raise awareness about a range of issues and support causes, such as child safety, climate change and cancer awareness.

I’ve been participating in marathons for the past 10 years. I truly enjoy being part of events like these because I get to meet new people, hear inspiring stories and feel motivated to return year after year — Nimish Madani (43), who ran in the Champions with Disability category, completed a 1.5 km run
Running on Mumbai’s roads along the seaside is such an amazing experience. I feel everyone should participate at least once and experience it. I ran the marathon last year, too, and for me, age doesn’t matter — enthusiasm is what truly counts — Srikant Anarase (50), finance executive
The vibe is incredible. With so many people lining the roads and cheering you on, the spirit of Mumbai really shines through and motivates me to come back every year. After the 8 km mark, I was almost ready to give up. But watching people run together — some even holding hands — gave me a huge energy boost
