Getting sultry with Suneeta

Singing with power and passion was Suneeta Rao at the hip, hop and happening Hard Rock Cafe on Tuesday night.
She had something new to offer after eight long years and the packed house agreed that it was worth the wait. Before the sultry singer reached for the microphone, exploding on screens all around was a music video of a song for the girl child ��� very haunting indeed, featuring Suneeta and her friend Suchitra Pillai (when she was preggers).
Director of the video Rachel Reuben was also there, enjoying the musical experience into the night. As expected, musicians and music lovers made their presence felt here. A trimmed-down Shankar Mahadevan, the ever-smiling Gary Lawyer, Gino Banks on the drums, his father Louis Banks in the crowd with wife Lorraine, and Sangeet Haldipur on the keyboards. While Suneeta rendered a mind-blowing performance, her equally talented artist sister Aarti stirred up the dance floor with some jive moves.
Also in the packed house were Mahesh Mathai, Srila Chatterjee, Karen Anand and Suresh Thomas who was trying to keep a low profile until he was called on to the stage. Dolly Thakore, Madhoo Shah and Nandini Sardesai were there earlier, but decided to call it a night sooner than the rest.
