Aparna & Akshay throw a grand bash

Alright, that may be not literally true but when host Shmuel Pluczenik unveiled two identical glittering stones at a grand bash on Wednesday night, it was apparent that the evening was going to be a glitter-filled one.
Along with co-host Aparna Chudasama and husband Akshay Chudasama, looking dapper in a black pinstripe suit, Pluczenik made sure the glamazon guestlist was well attended too.

The evening started off with a fashion show choreographed by Marc Robinson, with clothes by Lascelles Symons, where models Sheetal Mallar, Tapur Chatterjee, Dipannita Sharma and Candice Pinto shone on the ramp, courtesy, the diamonds. Anju Taraporevala made a public appearance after a long (and deliberate) hiatus. Salil Chaturvedi and his wife Anisha were seen after a long time too.
Not one to party too often, this glitzy evening saw Ashok Wadhwa and his wife Reena attend as well. Rishi Acharya was also heard saying that he doesn't go out much these days: "I'm growing old!" were his words! Ashish Raheja's just-out-of-bed look matched his casual chic look.

Rashmi Uday Singh looked dressed to the nines, in a flowing black gown. In between bitefulls of the predominantly Indian fare laid out, Narendra Kumar Ahmed got into a discussion about wristwatches, holding forth about their old world charm.
And speaking of things that go well on the wrist, Marc mentioned that the beads he was wearing on his right wrist was a souvenir from a visit to the Vatican, in Rome.
Keeping her parents Nana and Munira Chudasama company was Shaina NC who, although seen enjoying the food, made sure that she left room for dessert! Zeba and Rajesh Kohli and Arti and Kailash Surendranath were also seen enjoying the evening.
Gautam and Nawaz Modi-Singhania walked in after the show, Gautam dressed in an oriental-style coat, which he said was, on the contrary, "very Indian!" In a word, this was a dazzling evening!

When Gautam Singhania was asked how he and wife Nawaz Modi-Singhania spent Parsi New Year last week, he replied, in shudh Gujrati, "Bairine Singapore lai gailo, patra ni machi khawrawa!"
