Yes, the animal instinct shone through at this event that was all about animal welfare. Hosted by a prominent animal welfare organisation, the evening was dedicated to the cause of snakes with the message to boycott snake shows. Snakes are not natural performers we are shouted the ad campaign banners featuring dance choreographer Sandip Soparrkar and Jesse Randhawa.
And the banners suddenly came alive in front of your eyes as Jesse writhed like a snake to snake-charmer Sandips tunes. All an act to show the charmed audience how cobras, vipers and other snakes are treated with cruelty during these performances.
Getting a live demonstration of the act were sisters Binal and Pia Trivedi, PFMI-World 2008 Parvathy Omanakuttan, the missing-in-action-since-a-while Bhairavi Goswami, Jiah Khan who had her two sisters Kavita and Karishma for company, Anju Mahendroo who found great company in Mita Vashisht, Dipsshikha, Udita Goswami, whos also been missing-in-action, Smiley Suri, Achla Sachdev and Sheetal Mallar.
Performances should be by choice, not by force, said Jesse, even as hostess for the evening Anuradha Sawhney urged people to think twice before torturing snakes. All in all, this was a snake-sational evening.
