Vidya Balan, known for her long association with Kolkata, was in town on Saturday to launch a Rabindra sangeet album. The 'Kahaani' actress released the album along with music composer
Debajyoti Mishra and singer Sohini Mukhopadhyay.
The album comprises 10 Tagore songs like
Koto baro bhebechinu, Dure kothao, Dure dure, and
Abar tor mora gange baan aseche. “I would like to thank Vidya for coming here and supporting me.
In my album, I have tried to give a message through my songs,” said Sohini. Speaking on the occasion, Vidya Balan, said, “Kolkata is my second home . I love the city anyway and I am very Bengali at heart. Sohini has always helped me learn Bengali songs.”
Debajyoti Mishra said when he heard Sohini for the first time he knew she would go a long way. Sohini also thanked actress
Rituparna Sengupta who could not make it to the launch.
