As city models sashayed down the ramp in dazzling all-white outfits, the magic of first crush in a woman’s life was manifested through a Sufi dance presentation. Said Anvesha Harlalka, “There is a distinct Mughal influence in the ensembles, blended with contemporary cuts and tailoring. All the designs are in-house concepts.” We asked her if the fashion house believes in following trends. “When conceptualizing and creating ethnicwear that are period pieces, it’s tough to follow current trends. Essentially, through the pieces, we tried to follow a woman’s journey of love — from the first flush of the first crush till the time she becomes a coy bride.”
Vocalist Nabanita mesmerised the select audience with ghazals and thumris. Shararas, ghararas, sensual saris, light lehngas and finally, a line of gorgeous bridalwear formed the essence of the fashion show. Television actress Debleena Dutt made the evening special with a solo to the tune of In aankhon ki maasti ke.
