Students express their love for nature and birds at Maharashtra Times' drawing and essay competition

Maharashtra Times recently organised a three-hour-long drawing and essay writing competition for students in Kolhapur. Under its campaign 'Pakshi Bachwa', an initiative to save the environment and birds, the event had three categories each for drawing and essay competitions, where students across age groups and grades showcased their creativity and writing skills.

Under its campaign 'Pakshi Bachwa', an initiative to save the environment and birds, the event had three categories each for drawing and essay competitions, where students across age groups and grades showcased their creativity and writing skills.

While the drawing competition was judged by renowned artists Vijay Tipugade and Manoj Darekar, Yatish Saha judged the essays penned by the students. Students drew beautiful paintings and expressed their love for nature and birds and expressed the need to conserve and protect them through their writing. The winners received certificates and prize at Shahu Smarak Bhavan. While Tanvi Kalantre won the first prize in her category (Standard III-IV), Mufiza Mullah stood first among students of std V-VIII. Jiyana Mullha bagged the first prize for her category (Std VIII-X). In essay writing, Ambika Jeganje, Kalpana Kulkarni, and Shivani Wakil, each bagged the first prize in their their retrospective categories.
