The students of the Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology recently held a street-art competition in the city. The do, organized by the college’s arts club, Pratibimb Club Of Fine Arts And Photography, was titled Street Art: Get Off The Walls. “Pratibimb has been organizing grafitti contest for two years now, where students have to paint on the campus walls.
This year we thought of being innovative and paint the floors of the campus, instead,” said Yashodhara Tarey, one of the event coordinators. Among the participants were Rishabh Sachdeva, Disha Sugandhi, Arpit Shrivastava and Sankalp Agarwal.
The students displayed their creative skills by painting 2D and 3D pictures. “Most of us are amateur artists and more than the competition, this event is all about having fun,” remarked Shivam Choubey, one of the participants. With stalls offering lip-smacking delicacies, and songs being played in the background, the college made for a cool hangout spot. Ayushi, another participant, said, “It’s a good chance to give a colourful and vibrant makeover to the campus. Our faculty members too supported this idea.”
