Plays, folk dances and songs make college youth fest lively
As the value of rupees is falling in the international market, interweaving the burning issue of falling economy with satires, a college group presented their skit ‘Ek Rupayee ki maut’ at inter-college level youth festival of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) that left the audience in splits. Due to the falling economy, ‘one rupee’ commits suicide, his father, ‘notebandi’ and mother ‘naukri’ weep as different characters including politicians, policemen, bankers, officials and beggar enter the scene.

At the end, the (dead body) rupee gets support of GDP, a reporter, beggar who knows the value of one rupee and a common man. Amidst lively group folk dances, songs, sensational skits and other competitions, inter-college level youth festival of DAVV kick started on Tuesday.
The second round of youth fest witnessed an enthusiastic response from various colleges participating in different categories of art forms. Vice chancellor Dr Renu Jain, who was present as chief guest, inaugurated the programme by offering garland to goddess Saraswati at the auditorium.
