A fashionable eve in Hyderabad
The second day of the Fashion Week in the city was nothing short of dramatic.
Chitwan Naredi, Soham Chakraborty and Ramesh Dembla showcased outfits from their collections. Local boy Chitwan received the maximum applause from the crowd gathered at the convention centre of a swanky star hotel. His line took major inspiration from Hyderabad’s Nawabi culture.

He paid a fitting tribute to the city by using colors like rich reds, royal blue and gold and fabrics like velvet, complete with Nawabi motifs. The highlight of the collection was definitely the ‘Chinese’ inspired saree, the pallu of which had a detailed print of a lady with an umbrella, with lotus motifs and charms in the backdrop. Designer Ramesh Dembla created great drama on stage with male models who walked holding oil lamps. Soham Chakraborty had his models walk the ramp with heavy make-up, recreating the ‘sleepless in the city’ theme.
YAWN! The breaks between the shows are way too long, sometimes even stretching into an hour — a sheer test of patience! And what's sad is that the city's socialites gave Day 2 a miss!
