Hip-hop sets and festive rhythms shape a Christmas night in the city

A Christmas party at Oddspace brought together live hip-hop performances, DJ sets and a festive crowd, blending contemporary sounds with a year-end mood. A costume theme inspired by Bengali fairytale characters added a visual layer to the evening.

The night opened with DJ National Animal playing underground Christmas-themed hip-hop and R&B mixes as attendees arrived. Live performances followed, with Street 24, Avik, Ron-E, Pavel, Bishop, Voldi and AGx taking the stage in succession, quickly drawing the audience onto the dance floor.

Midway through the evening, the tempo shifted with an acoustic set by Streetfood. The duo’s slower, funk-leaning R&B numbers offered a contrast to the high-energy performances, while keeping the crowd engaged.

The Banglar Thek showcase formed the central segment of the night and received a strong response from the audience. A cake-cutting followed, creating a pause in the programme as artists and attendees interacted before the final live set.

As the gathering became more intimate, Bohiragoto closed the evening with a trip-hop and experimental performance, bringing the night to a reflective end.

Speaking about the debut, Cizzy said, “This was meant to be a space where different sounds and people could come together naturally. The response tonight shows there’s room for that kind of exchange.”

The event was attended by musicians and cultural figures including Gaboo of Lakkhichara, filmmaker Q, Sammy, and Nishad, among others.
