Not only does the family have to deal with the humiliation of being social outcasts but also Mattu has to come up with the money quickly or else his sister's wedding will be called off,” says Miransha.
Shoot phase was in our favour but not post-production
Miransha who has also made his well-received film Juze in 2017 and which was screened at International Film Festival of India in 2017 and 2019 says he was lucky that things were in his favour during production phase which ended in March this year. “During the production phase, one of the actors tested positive and at the last moment we had to replace him which was quite a task. But, we should consider ourselves very lucky as it could have been a lot worse. We decided to shoot a week earlier as the pre-production went very smoothly. It was only a week after the shoot that the cases started to go up.” Since it was time for the film’s post production the director had plans to travel to Europe. “Earlier I couldn't travel because of the travel ban and now there are date issues with the team. If all goes according to the plan then we should be ready by November for the festival's round.”
Capturing the Goan essence
The film is entirely shot in Goa. “We shot the film majorly in Shirle village in Quepem and in and around Barshia. The shoot could only be possible because of the love and support of the local people. It's an independent film so there were extra challenges, stress but then you see the rough cut and it all turns into fun, memory-beautiful memories,” quips Miransha. The cast comprises of a mix of actors both based in Goa and Mumbai.
Arjun Radhakrishnan is playing the lead (he has worked in films like Popcity, Shreelancer, Jhund. Deepti Devi from Naal, Raavi Kishor, Prashanti Talpankar, Rajiv Hede, Vishal Gawas, Vijay Kumar Kamat, Gauri Kamat, Deepa Moghe, Barkha Naik and Sudesh Bhise are some of the actors playing pivotal roles.
