A Goan short film on the emotional cost of fight against COVID-19

A film that highlights immense sacrifice of COVID warriors and the emotional toll it takes on their loved ones. Director Sushant Nayak, in his film ‘It is going to be Red’ tries to explain to viewers about how COVID warriors work tirelessly towards the creating a safer space for us and how we should strive to make it safe for them.
“The film is portrays a situation of a family and how important it is to keep oneself safe but also the others.

If we don’t behave sensible, responsibly things many get worse. Lot of films, ads are made on what precautions have to be taken, but we have concentrated on the emotional aspect of the film. The warriors are working day in and out, the film is focusing on their family lives,” informs Sushant.
The partial lockdown is made for people to sell essentials goods but a lot of locals are seen loitering around, not maintaining social distances and crowding around places which are not essential like liquor stores. “To make people understand that anyone can get the virus, and because of us someone who is not at fault is also at risk. We wanted to create an awareness film to educate people and made it in Hindi as it is a global issue, we thought that people all around could get the message,” informs Sushant.
While talking about making of the film, screenplay, cinematographer and editor, Vardhan Kamat,tells us that they took all necessary precautions while on sets. “We had only three actors, who were kept in different rooms- maintained social distance. The film was shot on a DSLR and shot it within 24 hours. Though it took us two days to edit, a day for background music , dubbing among other technical components. The film was released in a week.”
The film features Prashanti Talpankar, the grand-mother, Madhuri Shetkar as the mother and young Srinika Naik, as the daughter .
