I will sing some of my most popular numbers from Delhi 6, Fashion and Jab We Met. I will also sing some of my non-filmi songs like Dooba Dooba and Boondein, says the singer talking about his plans.
Ask him how different he finds the Delhi audience when compared to those in other cities, and he says, It always feels great to come back to the city and perform here. Delhis audience is more energetic as compared to those of other cities. Everytime we have played here, we have enjoyed a lot.
Cultural festivals like Times Delhi Festival work towards exposing the youngsters to various genres of music, says the Masakkali singer. Times Delhi Festival brings to you various Indian cuisines, genres of classical as well as contemporary music and other performing arts. Such festivals, since they are open to public, are the right way of popularising all things Indian among not only youngsters, but also people from all age groups. I also take keen interest in such festivals, says he.
Shankar Sahney, who will also be performing at the same venue, agrees with Mohit and says, After television, live performances are what bring the audience closer to the singers. Even to us, performing live for a discerning auidience gives immense pleasure. I havent really decided which songs I will be singing. Mein toh crowd ki demands pe hi gaane gaata hoon. My idea is to make them dance and have total masti.
