Mr & Miss DT contest reaches Lady Irwin College
The first day of Mr & Miss DT began on a sweltering day and it was hot!
Well, not just because of the weather, but also because the contest is hot too! At Lady Irwin College, passersby on the road bordering the college stopped to peer over the wall, at the large crowd of girls who stayed back to compete for the crown. DJ Sumit Sethi set the mood with the most happening, dhinchak tracks Dhan Te Nan, Twist, Chor Bazaari, Lakh Lakh Nakhre and Aahun Aahun.
1x1 polls

The emcee, Jitesh, started off by singing popular ad jingles and giving out tees to those who identified the product. Which meant that at one point, all of LIC was singing, Doodh si safedi, Nirma se aaye...! A bunch of girls were asked to sing Tum Toh Thehre Pardesi, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Eechak Dana Peechak Dana off key!
Masala moments: The contestants went through three selection rounds, and eventually faced a jury, which included RJ Stutee from Radio Mirchi and model Garima Parnami from Shoot Talent Management. The contestants had to introduce themselves, show off a talent (Pooja played Rakhi Sawant at her swayamvar), and finally answer the judges questions. Snigdha ducked the questions and chose to simply display her acting skills. Nikita Seth was asked whether she wanted to be the LIC principal or Miss Universe, and she happily replied, Miss Universe. Why? Coz I want to be Miss Universe, Im not interested in studying!
Ruchi Sharma was asked whether girls should wear short, revealing skirts and dresses, and she had the crowd rooting for her when she answered, Of course we should, legs are the main part when you want to attract someone. The eye contact is with the legs! Mahima Verma was asked which stereotypes about women were true, and she said, Gossiping and bitching.
Male for sale: But Indrani Bhattacharjee did a Coyote Ugly when she was asked to sell Jitesh to RJ Stutee and she auctioned him instead, for Rs 100, to the girl at the back! Her spunk and Mirchi quotient won her the title of the Radio Mirchi fuchcha of the day, and she got to host a programme on Radio Mirchi with Stutee! Aakanksha Sondhi, who won the college title, enacted a TV reporter reporting on the days Mr & Miss DT activity, at the end of which she coyly handed the mike back to Jitesh with, Aur iske bare mein aapko aur Jitesh batayenge! Nikita Seth was the first runner-up, and Snigdha was the second runner-up.
