JMI organises two-day Employability Enhancement Workshop
The University Placement Cell (UPC), Jamia Millia Islamia concluded a high-impact, two-day Employability Enhancement workshop titled, "Acing Case Interviews & Storytelling for Jobs in Consulting', from January 29 to 30. The event was attended by approximately 100 students from diverse disciplines including management, economics and commerce.
The workshop commenced with a welcome address by Prof Rahela Farooqi, Director, UPC, followed by opening remarks from Prof Rihan Khan Suri, Director, CIE & Professor TPO.The event was formally inaugurated by Prof Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar, and the Guest of Honour, Sanjay Khurana, Director, KPMG. Both dignitaries shared insightful perspectives on the evolving corporate landscape and motivated students to strive for excellence in their career journeys. Prof Sabah Khan, Dy. Director, UPC, concluded the inaugural ceremony with a formal vote of thanks.
Day 1 began with technical sessions focusing on personal branding. The first session, 'Relaying Your Story beyond Your Resume,' was delivered by Ansab Amir Khan (Ex-Homecentre), who guided students on weaving compelling narratives around their academic and professional profiles. The second session 'From Problem to Recommendation,' was led by Adil Khan (Ex-Bain), who provided a deep dive into mastering the case interview process and structuring complex business problems effectively.
Day 2 maintained high energy with practical, industry-focused sessions. The session on ';The Art of Storytelling' was delivered by JMI alumnus Mr Mohd. Arif Rao (SAP Labs India), who conducted an engaging and informative discussion on the power of narrative in professional settings. This was followed by 'The Consultant's Toolkit' by Aditya Singh (KPMG), who shared essential tools and frameworks used by global consulting firms.
