The International Polytechnic College for Women organised their annual fashion event recently. “Kaleidoscope 2011” was a platform where the fashion students of this college got a rare platofrm to showcase their talent and creativity.
“They have been working hard for months only for this day. Such events are very encouraging for the girls,” said Sanjana Kalra, executive director of the college.

With themes like ‘Sugar & Spice’, ‘Night Shift’ and ‘Fashion goes Gaga’, the students of the Polytechnic College dressed the models in outfits that they made from scratch.
Sonam Sharma was one of the young aspiring designers whose work was seen on the ramp. “This is a great moment for us as we got to do each and everything by ourselves, be it the ensembles, handling of models and now making sure the shows goes smoothly. We gave our 200%,” she said.
Blossom Kochchar was part of the jury and was impressed by the work of these budding designers. Another member of the jury was Abdul Halder, who said, “What is very important is to use your creativity to the fullest with the limited resources you have and the girls have done a brilliant job,” he said.
One of the most entertaining moments of this evening was when one set of designers worked upon childrens’ clothes and we saw kids walking the ramp in ‘jodhpuris’ with Mohawks, trying their best to pose like the other models. It was quite a rare sight.
