It was quite a reunion of the 1983 Cricket World Cup winning team when Kapil Dev, Madan Lal, and Kirti Azad came together for this evening. However, the occasion wasn't a cricketing one this time. Former India batsman Yashpal Sharma's daughter Preeti got married to Delhi-based Vaibhav Tyagi at a city hotel, which saw a gathering of the who's who of Delhi's cricket circle. Apart from the '83 World Cup winners, former Indian wicketkeeper Saba Karim, fast bowler Vivek Razdan, and CK Khanna, acting President of BCCI, were also present. "I'm extremely happy that everyone has come to join me in this happy moment and all my old friends and teammates from my cricketing days have also come to bless my daughter and son-in-law," Yashpal Sharma told us.

With so many cricketers present at the wedding, was there any talk of cricket? "When two cricketers meet, how can they not discuss the game?" said Kirti Azad.

When former captain and champion all-rounder Kapil Dev arrived, all eyes turned towards him. Kapil, who arrived with his wife Romi, met his former teammates and blessed the newlyweds, before settling down at a table with Madan Lal and his wife.
