Piano policing: The first family of the Delhi Police was in full attendance as Ankita Kumar, daughter of Neeraj Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, mesmerized the audience with her musical skills recently.
She revived some old Hindi and English classics on piano, starting with “Allah Tero Naam” and going on to classics like “
Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma” and “
Na Tum Humein Jaano”.
Apart from her guru and mentor, Brian Silas, present were her mother Mala, husband Kushagra Gupta, his mother Rashmi, Ankita’s sister Arunima and her husband Manav.
Surprise Jig: From
Dev Anand classics, Ankita breezed into the modern era and played some peppy Vishal Bharadwaj numbers like “
Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji” and “
Darling”. In what was a pleasant surprise even for the artiste, Arunima ran up on stage during “Darling” and broke into an impromptu jig.
Admin heavyweights: Enjoying the music were officials like PK Tripathi, chief secretary, Delhi government,
Deepak Mishra, special commissioner of police, operations,
Vijay Karan, former CBI director, KC Singh, retired IFS officer, and more.
