Amazon India Fashion Week 2015 kicks off today in Delhi

The Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter, organized by FDCI, kicks off in Delhi today. It is celebrating its 25th season and, hence, the number 25 seems to be high on its agenda. There are 25 shows scheduled over the next five days. The grand finale will witness, for the first time, 25 designers collaborating to bring to life the theme ‘Crafts of India’.Over 100 designers will showcase their collections to buyers, media and fashion aficionado.
Rajesh Pratap Singh is the opening designer. This season will also showcase a special installation, where 63 designers will present their interpretation of a khadi ensemble.
Amazon.in, the title sponsor, will live stream all the shows on the official page on its website, so that fashion enthusiasts all across the country can watch the event from their homes or offices and be a part of the celebrations.
Vikas Purohit (head, fashion, of the brand) said, “The fashion week celebrates the artistic expressions of India’s outstanding talent pool of designers. Through this event, we look forward to bringing regional fashion and selection to the fore; take Indian fashion to the global stage and, more importantly, take it to the doorstep of our customers.”
The brand is also hosting several Google hangouts over the next few days with various panelists from the fashion fraternity, including designers, fashion experts, celebrities, models, etc., to discuss pertinent topics like ‘lifecycle of a trend’, ‘fashion for who you are’, etc.
Actress Shraddha Kapoor will inaugurate the Amazon India lounge at the venue today at 3pm and will also participate in the first hangout, talking about her experiences and thoughts on fashion in the digital age.
