City’s newest summer attraction promises a prehistoric family escape
Kolkata is set to journey millions of years into the past this summer with the launch of Dino World, an expansive immersive attraction designed around the age of dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures. Conceived as a first-of-its-kind experience for West Bengal, the attraction combines entertainment, education, interactive engagement and family leisure into a full-day indoor destination for visitors of all ages.
Featuring towering life-sized dinosaur installations, prehistoric walkthrough zones, themed games, interactive workshops and immersive photo experiences, Dino World has been curated as a summer holiday attraction aimed at children, families and young adults seeking experiential entertainment within the city. The initiative also introduces specially designed learning sessions and hands-on workshops intended to encourage curiosity, creativity and exploration among children during the vacation period.
As families increasingly look for engaging indoor activities during Kolkata’s summer months, the attraction positions itself as a blend of recreation and discovery, allowing visitors to explore the prehistoric world through storytelling-driven experiences and interactive environments.
Speaking about the launch, Amit Kumar, Executive Director of South City Mall, said, “Consumers today are seeking destinations that offer far more than just shopping, they are looking for experiences they can spend an entire day immersed in with family and friends. With Dino World, we wanted to bring Kolkata something truly first-of-its-kind, an experience that blends imagination, entertainment, learning and discovery at a scale the city has not witnessed before. As one of the largest and most loved malls in the region, our endeavour is to continuously reinvent how people engage with physical retail spaces by creating experiences that are culturally exciting, socially shareable and deeply engaging across age groups. Dino World is not just an attraction, it is designed to become Kolkata’s most exciting family daycation this summer.”
