It was an evening of rejoicing as winners of the Vestas 420 Sailing Nationals were awarded.
Organised by Royal Madras Yacht club, it was a glitzy event were guests and participants turned out looking gorgeous. However, the stars of the evening were sailors who glowed. Many of the guests were even overheard complimenting the young sailors who, usually seen in sports gear, dazzled the night.
Chief guest of the evening, Kanimozhi exchanged pleasantries with participants and guests and said, ���Some time back, people were talking about rough waters and swimming against the tide.When I heard this, I knew I was at home because politics is all about this ��� rough waters and high tide.��� With the level of enthusiasm among sailors soaring, Kanimozhi said she was sure India would soon bring home a gold medal. Rohini Rau who won two awards was positively glowing. An informal party followed where guests chatted and mingled.
