Actor turned politician Anubhav Mohanty recently landed in a controversy after behaving rudely with a television reporter in his constituency, Kendrapara, where he was attending a meeting regarding renovation of the famous Baldevjiu temple in the area.

Actor turned politician Anubhav Mohanty recently landed in a controversy after behaving rudely with a television reporter in his constituency, Kendrapara, where he was attending a meeting regarding renovation of the famous Baldevjiu temple in the area. After a lot of hue and cry and protests against him, the actor tendered an apology through a video message.

The actor, who had contested from BJD party and won the Kendrapara MP seat in 2019 by defeating Baijayant Panda, a BJP candidate who had won this seat in 2014 election from BJD party. Panda’s family also runs a local news channels. And Anubhav had misbehaved with a reporter from Panda’s channel, who had approached him for a byte, by mocking him and pulling him in front of the camera. This incident created a controversy, as people, mostly journalists, took to the social media to slam the actor for his act.
Following huge backlash, Anubhav released a video on his social media page and apologised to media citing that he has immense respect for the media fraternity. “I have highest respect for media and I have always cooperated with them. The Kendrapara incident was unintentional and I apologise for that,” he said.
However, he blamed his political rival and his news channel for insulting and irritating him every now and then since the election results came out. He also appealed to his political rival not to harass him by using the media outlet and let him serve the people who have voted him to power.
