In 2019, a mere 5 km is left of the majestic lake that the city of Bhopal was so proud of. However, the damage goes far beyond simply aesthetics. The drying reserve of water has led to a severe water crisis among the 40% of the population of the city that is dependent on the lake. As the city grapples with solutions to deal with this crisis, we take a look at the slow demise of the lake.
